Born to Print:

When I asked my family and friends to review the concept for our new website, my Uncle Butch said, “Try to make it clear that you and Don live and breathe printing…that your veins pump ink instead of blood…that you are involved in the business every day”.  Easier said than done…it all ends up sounding like a sales pitch.  Here’s what I can tell you and it is the truth:  After all these years and changes in the industry, I still LOVE printing.  My vision has always been to have a great print shop – a place where the employees are enthused to give their very best, so that the client gets the very best.  And we couldn’t be happier or more proud of how our power-house little shop is turning out.

The bar is constantly being raised, and we are the “raiser”:

“Out-smart ‘em or out-work ‘em” is what I have always said in regards to the competition.  While we do enjoy some serious horse-power, our goal has never been to become the biggest…we just wanted our shop to be really, really good.  And THAT is what we work towards every single day.  Standing still is not an option.  I spend an average of 2 hours of every day working towards the constant improvement of Highlight Printing…either learning about the new ideas and innovations in the industry, or meeting with various departments to implement the ideas and innovations we have chosen to adopt, general process improvement, or helping to ”job engineer” a specific project.

Yah, but is it worth it?:

Absolutely!  The longer we are in business, the more important the relationships we have built have become to us.  We have been working with some of our clients for 20 years or more.  We LIKE these people and enjoy working with them and would never want to do anything less than our very best for them.  THAT is what drives me in the constant pursuit of education and improvement…how can we do our very best for you if we aren’t always cramming a little more information into our heads from which to draw on?  Lots of people are comfortable sitting back on their laurels (what’s a laurel anyway?), but not me and not my company. 

My highschool english teacher always said to end with a “Summary”:

So, in summary:  Know our industry, know our client, work harder, work smarter, and give ‘em a little more than what they are asking for.

It will only take a little while to understand the difference, and you can finally breathe a sigh of relief that you have found a company that will reliably serve you…day in and day out, year in and year out.
